The students of the Hungarian Dance University who choose the Hungarian Folk Dance Specialisation participate in a 5-year-training programme. They usually apply at the age of 14 and at the age of 19, they can leave their alma mater with a Dance Artist BA thanks to the University’s specialised training. The professional training covers a wide spectrum of dance arts: students learn not only authentic folk dance culture, but also the social arts such as classical ballet, modern dance, and modern ballroom dance, which are all a major part of their studies. At the end of the fifth year, they will give a public stage performance, focusing on artistic achievement.
As of now, they are halfway through their journey, but as a result of their daily interdisciplinary professional work they want to use this solo evening to offer an experience that showcases their dance skills, their performing qualities, and an authentic and theatrical dance choreography worthy of the audience’s applause.
